Ketchum describes the extreme diversity in the cultural landscape of Burkina Faso. Their population consists of multiple ethnic groups that define the region by their Christian beliefs or belief in traditional spirituality. The Mossi religion focuses on ancestry and the influence that family members have on future generations and other Burkinabe religions hold the belief of animism. The Mossi and Fulani religions base their government systems around patriarchal clans and the government is a patron of the arts which makes up a large part of the Burkinabe culture.
This culture differs greatly from that of which we are accustomed to in the United States because of the different cultures that are prevalent in the country. I think that the great cultural diversity in this country makes for an interesting but unified culture. They have deep connections to their heritage and express this in their cultural activities.
